Congratulations!

Even though two bikes did not win a trophy, they may inspire a younger enthusiast to save another old bike.

I had my old Schumacher hat on as we loaded up the truck. At the bike show site, I didn't put my hat back on. We stood around outside with other members and bull shitted for about an hour and a half before we unloaded. By then my head was fried!!!!! I bent over to loosen the tie downs and I about passed out!!! The 92 degree heat, the fried head, and not eating did me in for the rest of the day!!! I drank 5 bottles of Gatorade and a water in 5 hours.

It only takes about 15 to 20 minutes before you start to burn in the Arizona sunshine!!! An hour and a half you are a red lobster!!!

Here is a distance shot of my three bikes at the VJMC bike show yesterday. Look behind the Suzuki Rotisserie and you can see the Superbike with the GSXR and the Gamma next to it!!!

Unfortunately no.

I was feeling so bad by the time we got the bikes out of the truck, I had a hard time just walking to the display area!!!

You can see me with my hat on sitting on the bench trying to get myself to feel better!!!

This photo is for bluej58. This is the clutch release you are looking for!!! It is a bolt on part for your bike. This is the best clutch release that Kawasaki ever put in their 900/1000's!!!!

They list that release to be the very same part number, 13231-020. So it should fit no problem!!!

Just make sure you repack it with some good hi-temp grease after you get all the old grease, and grit that has accumulated in that release out of it!!!

So you say that it has ball bearings that I don't want to deal with, what is the best way to clean it? soak it in gas?

I cleaned mine in the past with Safety Kleen. Any solvent like gas would do. Then spray some carb cleaner through it to make sure there is no more grit inside of it. Just check it when you get your release and see if you can feel any grit inside of the release. If not just repack it. The hardest thing is to get grease all the way through the whole release. I have used that spray grease to get all the way into the release.

I never had the patience to take one of those releases apart. I found it easier to just replace it with a new one. But that was back in the day when you could still buy them from Kawasaki, and I had extra money to spend!!!
