OK, found it in your build thread....80's nighthawk 550 taillight with chinese LED circuitry fitted inside. It does fit the shape of the tail nicely. Let me know if you find your video...would be cool to see.

i find it odd how people always use "is it legal" as a bench mark for whether or not to use something. what about SAFE, its easy to blame the other driver when the cut you up or ram you, but how are they to know which way you are going by a flashing brake light, its my opinion that its madness to at any unnecessary confusion to other drivers as to what you are up to.

my light is about 3 times brighter than the stock tail light I generallly hit my brake to slow down with traffic behind me legallity means nothing but when the back of my bike lights up like a red flair pretty sure that dude behind me isnt worried about anything but slowing down, to let me turn stop or do a burn out. its a bike safety first dont need a law that tells me a 16 year old in her daddy's z71 shouldnt be on her cell phone arguing with joey changing lanes without lookin
as I have to change lanes to keep from being greasy spot on main street all that does is increase her fine after she runs over me

I am using an 03-07? CBR600RR Tail light which I believe is the same as the one in your original posting from the select years of CBR1000R Here is a pic of mine:



In addition, mine has the intergrated turnsignals, but I like external, smaller signals anyway, so I am running both in parallel.

Ah, now I see. I found more tail light info deeper into your thread. So was your CBR tail light exactly like the one I posted but clear?

Looks good, thanks. That's what I'm looking for, others that have tried specific lights. I'd just hate to plunk down $90 and then find out it doesn't fit and looks terrible. Is yours the same as Ramtough's? It's just so hard to tell from pictures.

It fits the 1000 tail nicely, but wow, as Mark pointed out, it looks like it was made for the Z1 tail....as seen in ramtoughs post, picture shown below:
