The info was posted before so that people wouldn't spend a bunch of money on illegal lights and then get nailed.

Got pulled over by a state trooper in the middle of down town Tacoma about a half hour ago:
He came back with a ticket for $124 which states:
RCW: 46.37.200 - Defect turn signal/stop lamps/no turn signals/integrated tail light.
He told me the law states the blinkers need to be as far apart as it is practical. What is the definition of practical?
Whats the deal with these integrated tail lights?
My tail light has red stop and running, and amber blinkers.
Just an FYI to check the local laws. If you don't care about the laws, no problem. It's just FYI because some people don't like getting pulled over and paying expensive tickets.
Hello board,
I was wondering if anybody has gotten pulled over for having integrated tail lights on there bike?
My story is that i was recently pulled over for not having tail light stalk blinkers and was told that my integrated tail light was illegal. So I was ticketed for that and not for my watsen flushies on the front of the bike which he commented that those need to be visible up to 500ft in broad day light(I was like WTF).
Are Integrated Tail Lights Illegal in New York State?
I read on some R6 forum that integrated tail lights are illegal in NY State and that the turn signals have to be separate. Anyone know how I can find this out? The intertubes, they do nuhting.
They are indeed illegal. Turn signals have to be 10" or 12" apart
are integrated taillights illegal in texas?
i wanna get integrated taillights on my bike to clean it up but is it illegal to have?i live in san antonio texas.
integrated tail lights are pretty much illegal everywhere. there is usually a minimum distance that the turn signal needs to be away from the center of the bike that cannot be maintained in an integrated system. if you mod, i would do it so that i could put the stock stuff back on to comply with a fix-it ticket if you ever get one...
integration isn't the issue spacing is the issue. if you get a ticket add signals that are spaced out far enough get it documented and try to get the ticket dropped then remove the signals and repeat.
By federal standard, turn signals must be at least 8" off centerline of the bike. There are standards for luminous intensity, repetition rate, color, viewing angle, etc, etc. Most aftermarket (read:import:Ebay) integrated tail lights don't meet any of these standards, nor do the carry the required DOT markings demonstrating that they have been tested as such. I've seen some really low-output LED units that are downright scary, but hey, its just a Peterbilt behind you!
