No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHi!
On my 750 four's I have 1 Mikuni and 1 Keihin carb.
Both with same in- and out diam.
As one ride is a primary one and second spare parts(scrambler) project, I was thinking, whitch one is better:
Keihin or Mikuni?

And has anyone used this:

The early (80, 81 & 82) 750 4s came with the Keihin CV34 carbs and I think from 83 and up Mikuni BS 34s were used. I actually like my Keihin s and have had no problems when I jetted them for pods and then back to air box for the original look. However, I think my viewpoint is a minority one. Most people seem to prefer the mikuni carbs. There are more of them out there and I hear it's easier to get parts.

sorry I can't help regarding the jet kit.

TNX!

Only benefit I see right now is, that MIKUNI has adjustable needle hight!
On KEIHIN it's "complicated" ;)

The reason for asking about SIGMA Jet-kit's is: PRICE

The Mikuni BS34's seem to work better on my 810. The Kiehin's have a butterfly that chokes the air and gets in the way of velocity, wear as the Mikuni's have an enriching circuit that provides more gas I think to create the cold start choke affect. Difference was night and day, especially higher up in the rev range.

My 82 GPz750 has the stock Mikuni BS34 carbs, and they are great with the stock airbox. CV carbs are popular choice for OEMs for a reason. They require a lot less tuning work, in general, and offer good mid-range and transitional throttle response, which is nice for a street bike/daily rider. They don't tend to work well with pod filters, however, as the operation of the diaphragm/slide is designed for the use of the airbox.

The Kehins on my 75 CB550K and 77 CB750F2 are non-CV. The advantages are that they take to pods well, and there's no delicate diaphragm to worry about. The down side is that they require a fair bit more tuning if you want them to run well at anything less than flat-out WOT riding (the same sort of advantages and problems you get with flatslides).

It depends on what you want from the bike. Race-built vehicles aren't actually much fun on the street, in my experience.

Hi!

So made the swap- it runs just great on Mikuni's BUT.....
Only when engine is warm
When cold, idles poorly, doesn't hold the revs, dies out in first 2 or 3 start attempts...

But to ride- it just brings a smile on my face compare tu Keihin's :P
Fast response, good accel'

Any ideas, why cold?

I have 2 sets of Keihins CV34 and they work nice for me. However I did not have the chance of testing the MIKUNIS BS34.

In my opinion, early KEIHINS are better because they have 3 jets:
Pilot - Main jet - secondary Main Jet.

Kawasaki KLR 650 2011

Sorry can't help you I am new on here I have a 1976 KZ 400. Very clean , 3000 miles on it I have learned that 1976 carb parts are so hard to come by verses say1975 , or 1977. Will these interchange with a1976. Or what will if any ,any input would be very appreciated, thanks. Carb swamps from early or later years.
