KZ1000 carb problems? was created by BrandonTKZ
So my 1000 has a wiseco 1075 kit, vm29's, pod filters, mains of 117.5 and pilots of 20 (dont hold me at gun point on the pilots..) jet needle is in the middle position, and a vance&hines drag pipe with competition baffle.

that's the run-down and here's the issue. the bike runs pretty well, idles pretty smooth and likes the 3-4k range but if I'm cruising around at that range and pull the throttle wide open it starts to pull pretty good for a tiny amount of time then it kind of gurgles like brrrrmmmmm (<--- crusing)
braaa (<--- good spot) then grugalugalugle (<--- problem spot.).

do you think the mains are too small? to big? or maybe not enough air flow through the pods?
any ideas will help. Thanks

Does adding a little choke have any effect on performance?

Per Z1E, 29mm smoothbores on Z1, KZ900 and KZ1000 use 120 main jets and 17.5 or 20.0 pilot jets (or 25 in the later versions).

What is fuel level in float bowls?

Good Fortune! :)

i checked the float levels and their all good. I put some 122.5's in it (their the next size up i had) and it seems to might have made a difference, but it still does it some. im going to get some 120's and try those in it
