I remember the artical well. Took quite a bit of work to make a Z1R run a high ten. How times have changed.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Actually it did not take much at all. I wound up copying the article with mine. I did not even bother changing the carbs like Yoshimura did in the article. I had the bike timed in Hawaii and got into the high tens regularly, even though not consistently. But I never did say I was a Pro drag racer. It is an1103 with Bonneville cams and a little bit of head work. It took a lot more with the GS1000. RC had to punch it all the way to 1200.
Now- Anyone know how I can post this article????

OMR is pretty good at posting stuff like that. If you already have it scanned you may be able to get it into a pdf format but am not 100% sure. I think there is a free pdf application you could try but cant remember the name. Try a google search for it. Good Luck, I would be interested in reading it too.

Pops Yoshimura pulled 133 hp / 76ft lb torque on a gs1000 road racer with a stock bore, i wonder what that would relate to in the quarter mile?

The # do the talking. Only 76 pound /feet of torque. The two # should be much closer together. This meant that he got all of his HP up hi on the RPM band. Now- If he got 110Hp and 110 Lb/Ft of torque, that would be impressive.

If .pdf is the key to getting it posted, then it should be quite easy if you use the latest version of MSWord. All you have to do is copy the .jpgs to a Word .docx, then save as .pdf.
