Hay Jeffasaki, what is that in your "Avatar"? I took a closer look at that picture and found it to be an interesting collection of parts. I am not saying that it is bad or that I don't like it just unusual.

Some of you might have to remove some of your filters. I have sent out about 12 of these Zip files and 3 got rejected by your computers as undeliverable.

Having what we have today, the simple mods to do to this bike now would be. 1) use "J" series head lightly ported, 2) Mikuni BS34s, 3)GS1100 swingarm, 4)We-Cam 119 grind cams. 5)Wiseco K1106 kit. 6)MAC Cannister pipe. The reason I chose these items is because they are a direct bolt on like the original project was. I think that using these components would make a considerably stronger bike than the original. I know that there are more "high performance" parts out there, but I chose these due to the fact that they will not break the bank, especially the carbs. A set of well tuned BS34 have the same performance as 31mm smooth bores. Also due to availability, I would go with a Dyna ignition.

Agreed Otakar, good and all easy bolt on stuff ;)

I like the early gpz heads myself. :P

The early (88-82) GPz head is the same as the J head. The 83-84 GPZ head is much different and a MINT to buy. Also due to the large combustion chambers, you require custom pistons with special crowns. But I do agree. I have a 84 head on my 81 GPz and it is sweet. I still needed special pistons.
