Yesterday was a great time and a big relief,I have been worried about doing some things to the bike like replacing points and condenser, front brake seals and plugging a couple leaks before I moved the flag.
Call it superstition

I thought I screwed up though because when we rode South on LSD I couldn't get her to idle and I was starting to get nervous , I mention this to Lou and he took one look at my bike and said " your choke is on" thanks Lou.

Started out about 8:15 am and somewhere around 37 deg. headed to Dorkville to meet up with Forrest.
Sadly he had battery issues with the KZ650 and had to ride his C-14

We then headed East to Plainfield to meet up my buddy Greg on his V65 Magna.

Had planned to swinging by Saxjonz's for brunch before going down town but we were running tight on time and met him at the Adler Planetarium .

This Saturday morning I had decided to take out an ad in craigs list for the hell of it;

and " Don from Lansing " heeded the call on his Green 99 ZRX1100 B) it looked great next to Saxjonz's Blue 02 ZRX1200R. nice meeting you Don.

Then Loudvhx showed up with two of his buddies, Trevor on his blue 1000st and Stan on his red Honda Superhawk, very cool meeting you guys also !

I had hope to see Lou's stripped down 550 that is in his avatar but he didn't want to ride it in crappy weather, I can't blame him, next time ;)

Lou talked us into heading South down LSD first which was a great idea and we stopped at the site of the 1893 world fair under the gilded bronze statue of the Republic aka "Golden Lady"

Then it was back North to Montrose Harbor for the next stop.
By then Don had pealed off and Stan never came back from a surprise gas fill up, he turned up later OK.

The last ride took us back South on LSD and to the underworld know as Lower Wacker, they have made major improvements since the last time I was down there, Check out Saxjonz and Loudhvx's videos B)

Lou and Trevor split off and Forrest, Saxjonz, Greg and I rode back to the burbs together then Forrest continued on alone while we stopped at a place called the Tilted Kilt :woohoo:

The young beautiful women working at that place  Saxjonz talked the waitress into having her picture taken with me but I chickened out , I was afraid my wife would be pissed , she says she wouldn't have been though :pinch: to bad, I had the Relay shirt on.

Patton probably would have put Wiremans face on her anyway

More pics here; kzrider.com/forum/17-ride-reports/508405...=20&start=160#582601

Anyways, 8 bikes, 5 members, great time and no one got hurt :woohoo:

Great job JD, Saxjonz, all the other members and guests! Wow, Don rode out all the way from lansing? I would imagine about 3 hours just to get to the meeting up spot? You guys did up a class act! How much warmer than 37 deg did it get throughout the ride?

Once we left Chicago it got into the 60's  it was probably around fifty for most of the day.
I think Don was from Lansing IL, a boarder town not too far away.

Tell you what...I'd have put my face on her and anywhere she wanted it. But, I must be getting old cause now I think about the consequences of my actions. lol

After a couple of drinks I rode off to Atown in a most circuitous route and reminisced of days passed when I used to terrorize that town. I learned how to ride there and in a matter of just two months I put ten thousand miles my first summer with my midnight 850 up and down those streets. Gas was a lot cheaper back then even taking in to consideration inflation. lol

Would those consequences be a miocardial infarction or a can of whoopass from your significant other? There is a Tilted Kilt up in Oshkosh about 50 north of me. I make it a point to stop there any time I'm in the neighborhood to restart my heart.

Sounds like a great ride and a great chapter for the Relay Ride. I hope I can do half as well up nort here in da woods.

Now it's up to Tom to hit the Tilted Kilt in Oshkosh and get a shot :P

 JD, I may never go to Hooters again.

Saxjonz, just upload your videos to YouTube first. All you need is a Google account. Afterwards, as you are creating your post on KZR, you will see an icon of a film strip above the face icons. You can post your link from the each YouTube videos there. If that doesn't work, use the icon of the earth with chain link at the bottom. Because I believe there currently some kind of issue with the film strip method.

Why do they have astroturf on their football fields again? Oh that's right. It's there to keep the cheerleaders from grazing on the field. lol
