wireman would be correct lol well ok maybe not the coke. but beer deffitenly had a factor. No i had the cases completely split and everything apart. I started by sandblasting with 60/80 grit glass bead. Then i sanded it with sand paper and various sanding pad tools like a 7 in 1 tool and dremel and i also had really good luck with abrasive wheels to fit a standard drill and one on a dremel to fit in the nooks and crannys. Anyway went up to 800 grit dry then i wet sanded 800 and 1000 grit using wd 40 as my water. I was told by a old timer to try it. So i did and it seemed to work pretty decent. But anyway after that was done it will have most the scratches out only a few small sandpaper marks. Then i used a buffing kit i had bought from harbor freight long ago. using various ends to get in diffrent places. Anyway i used a polish around here that is popular with alot of the harley guys. Its called white diamond. Its a polish/protectant. That brought out the mirror like reflection and removing 99% of the scratch marks. Then to get the really bright and shinely surface you see there, I cleaned it all up with brake cleen and then buffed it again with mothers aluminum polish. The white diamond is a more aggressive grit but preps the surface really well for the mothers to finish it off. Its deffitenly alot of work, i wont lie. I worked on my slowly all winter. And doing this power tools are your best friend. The more types you have the better.Well hope that helps if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

U may want to consider increasing the crank case venting capacity with those big pistons. it will help to keep it from seeping oil down the road.

Congrats on a great build. :) B)

Thank you mark1122, I actually took your advice long ago and ended up using the old emission caps in the valve cover and flipped the reed valve over so it can only blow out now. I then T'd the two together and ran it down with 3/4 heater hose and T'd it into the crankcase vent then down between the swing arm and frame.
