That is a boss hog! I was thinking of getting stitching done, like my name, or kz1000 or Litre bike. Something to give it that extra something. But then decided against it because My stitching job could have been better, I like the alternative you just gave me. im going to spitball that idea for a couple days. That bike is freaking awesome ha, makes me want so sandblast and polish my gas tank now too....haha

Its been awhile. I have decided the next project I do, I will go through it and buy the parts before hand. Because in my searches I find other things I dont need. Anyway Im far off my budget. The bike is no longer self sustainable in the cost.

My Status is:
Seat - done
Exhaust - done
Brakes- done
Suspension - done
Wiring harness - done
handlebars - done
Entire bike has been gone through Every inch of this bike has been touched by me except for the engine. I have my new inner tubes for my new tires and All that needs to be done is take the bike to get the wheels mounted. After the wheels are mounted the bike goes back together. I am waiting on a couple miscellaneous parts from ebay. I have expressed the max amount of energy, money and craftsmanship that I can offer it. I will be updating so many pictures in the coming weeks of the reassembly. I'm hoping I can get the wheels mounted this weekend but this will be the fourth week I have been let down. Im tired of working on it. The next steps I want to take would cost large sums of money so as it sits in parts scattered It is a complete bike waiting...as am I.

I believe ya, Its taken a lot more out of me than I expected it to. My hope is with all the parts put together, I am moved by my work done and instantly feel the worth when she fires right up. Sadly my doubts exist. Maybe for good reason in the way of diligence to get it done.

On friday night I was up untill five in the morning putting this back together. I made a one piece bracket support out of a threaded rod to hold both the headlight and the speedometer in its new place. Pretty clever I thought. I did something really fun with the voltage regulator battery and wire harness set up. I condensed the whole unit into a power supply box from a computer with a cooling fan and fuse box that I connect the stator into. It will be placed inside the seat bubble. Staying true to the simplified modifications. Im very happy with how its coming along. I was discouraged by the pace for a little bit but I'm seeing the fruits now. I still have to glue and pad the seat though...

Sanded the gas tank to get it smooth and put some edge guard on it. Previous owner brush painted it with chalk board paint. I had a Tesla motors piece layin around so I figured I would put it on to give the tank a little flare.

nice project specially considering your age and experience.
when i was 22 i was stuck on old British junk and a big Kaw was the stuff of my dreams... had the sidewalk to work on.

nevertheless:

get rid of those handlebars, as hip as they might look to you.
nice try with the seat, now, armed with experience, make a nicer one that follows the frame tubes.
last, unless you really know how to ride, dont add race numbers to your tail. 1" chicken strips and race numbers = POSER...

oh yeah it has to feel good to be able to look at it in one piece  .

i agree with turbo guzzi on the seat/tail piece.
use this one to get going, but when you get a spare moment and have the cash for materials give it another shot and i bet you knock it out of the park.

congrats.
