I wonder if the RPM's are an issue because the KZ fires every stroke like a 2-stroke does. My other guess would be due to interference as the sensor wire is not shielded at all. Once I get it on and all ready to go I will post a follow-up.

Which model did you go with?
I've been looking at the 2802-AB (Black Only) for they don't offer here in the States the Billet Aluminum any longer. So I figured for $120, buy the black, strip the paint and buff it out.
Same time, I've already contacted ElectroSport and the new 4000 model is coming out after the first of the year...
Analog RPM meter plus you get volatge read outs....
www.electrosport.com/street/speedometers-series-4000.php
Please keep us posted on how the unit operates. Speed measuremnt seems to be good enough but there's considerable amount of posts regarding the RPM accuracies.

Just started installing mine on my KZ650 and found that the adapter that connects into the wheel drive doesn't fit. I was able to swap the screw on holder from the stock cable with a little sanding and very little work. Just thought I would warn others that they may take some work to get it to fit if you buy the Acewell and don't want to use the magnet pickup.
Sorry, no pics of it installed yet as I am still building a bridge to attach it to.

No Spedo. Just tach. It's a problem as the cops are getting sticky out here. I can pump along with traffic all day long. But when I'm alone with no reference it's a problem. I'm probably pushing 80 most of the time. Most of the roads I'm on are 65mph limit or under.
So it's time to save for a new digital gauge package from Acewell. Finally a company has our old bikes in mind. They have an attachment for the KZ where the old speedo cable was mounted to convert to their digital cluster.
Be cool to have a signal indicator, fuel gauge and other niceties.

Oh man, that sucks! Truly sorry to hear about the luck! Cops are people and we all know that people can be pricks.
Get your permit before you go see the judge; I'm sure that's you plan already, but that might help.
The 4000 has an analog tach needle that's pretty cool.

PS> I check the Acewell stuff through electrosport.com (refered to me by a board member)

Wooooooooooow! A couple cool similarities between our bikes (the 750s). I'm in the process of putting some ZRX passenger pegs on mine also:ohmy: ...just waiting for them to arrive. I'm modifying the exhaust...it's "jacked"...
And I'm looking at an Acewell also; I contacted them about the 4000 and they said it won't be out for a couple months and quoted it anywhere from $180 to $250...not terrible, but I'm hoping for $180
Lastly: the laser systems are accurate to 2.5" at 400 yards with a traditional power-source...and even further (nearly 800 yards) with a dedicated power-source. ...sorry.

PS> What color-scheme are you going with? Mine is a slightly-off shade of ELR and I'm going to go back to a red with stripes (I think black and white with a gold pen-stripe between the two...stripes on the fairing, tank and tail, not the side-plates).

Basically did just that. Purge and removed them last night.
The sintered pads removed were close anyhow. Surprising as I didn't ride it that much. But without an odometer it's hard to tell...
Looking seriously at the Acewell 3950 with a ACE-S10 to replace the speedometer cable.
Been waiting for a part like this to go with an all digital display. Products of this nature 8 years ago were beyond my means, and logic. This is attainable.
Have to sell it to the wife again as a safety issue.
Plus, CHP is out like mad lately and I don't want to get caught with my pants down. The friggen hand held laser they are using is diabolical. They can be quite a way from you and be absolutely sure they are targeting one vehicle in a group.
So on the list at this point:
1) Ride.
2) Work with Derek to do some laden and un laden measurements of the suspension.
3) Order me some new shocks and adjust the front as needed.
4) Purchase the instrument package that makes sense for the bike. Fit.
5) Fix the paint and add the blue and white stripes.
6) Attach some ZRX passenger pegs so I can support the pipe from a stout platform.
#6 may move higher on the list depending on what happens with the current pipe hanger. At the moment the pipe seems stable. No baffle rattle and slipping at the collector connection. I had just changed some items that seemed to help just before breaking the case. Nice to see the R&D progress improved things. But it's far from perfect.
