just had a thought. I tested this with the bike not running. Is it possible the power switches from battery to generator when the bike is in gear?

I just bought a acewell gauge. Wired it up tested all functions 100%. However when I put the bike in gear it shuts off the power to the gauge. I tested all the wires for power when the ignition is on and bike is on gear and I have power WTF? Anyone have this happen?

I just bought a 2803 and its great! Only problem I'm having is the speedo cable threaded cap you buy to fit the Kawasaki stock speedo cable is slightly bigger so it wont stay on tight. I'm going to try some lock tight ;) we will see. Anyone else see this happen?

I can't really say much about it yet, but I just bought a Veypor and the Indicator box with the lights on the sides. Haven't gotten it installed yet. But, what an impressive piece of equipment, if it does what it actually advertises that it does and I have done lot of reading about it and I haven't seen ANY bad reports, just praise.
As I said, I got the Veypor not the more expensive VR2, I don't need all of the extra datalogging that the VR2 does.
I also got the silver indicator box they were out of the black one. They emailed me that the black ones were a limited run.

You can veiw them at: veypor.com/index.html

For a total of 298 buckazoids with shipping and quick delivery. I'm impressed with them.

Oh, I did check with them and they said all I have to do is email them with the mileage that is now on the bike, they will send me a firmware patch to load into the Veypor so it shows the correct mileage on the odometer.

Been over a year since I worked on my Bike or visited this website.

But i have started to work on the project again.

I have taper bearings ordered and an acewell Speedo in the mail.
Also shaved the emblems off the tank and need to fix a few remaining dings.

I ran across and issue tonight. What have some of you guys used for throttle cables? stock kz throttle cables are pooched, But Im not sure how I would fasten them to the 636 twist throttle anyhow
Any insight and pictures would be great.

Those trailtechs are a bit spendy and not my style. I'd rather go with an ACEwell, but those aren't much cheaper.

My bike speedo will go to 99.9mph.

My new cable came yesterday and I installed it last night. I guess I'm riding with stock gauges until I can figure out how to do it.

The main issue I have with the bicycle speedo, which goes along with not being able to see it, is that I use the odometer to gauge my gas tank. I get just about 90 miles until I need reserve.

I like some of the Sportsters I have seen with the Speedo mounted off of the left fork, but I like my tach and I don't think it would looke right with one on both sides.

you can get a kawasaki specfic speed sensor that will fit onto the orginal speed sensor location

talk to herm at dimecity..
i think it was 15-20 bucks..

now i had to do some modify for everything ti fit correctly on my kz650

took the stock speed cable and cut it in half to get the stock collar off it..
then i had to take the new speed sensor and lightly file around the rim to make it smaller so it would fit into the stock collar nut.. not much, just a hair..

much cleaner.. and maybe u wont have to fiddle with yours.. i just know on mine.. the new speed sensor collar nut did thread onto the stock wheel speed theads.

sorry my english is horrible...
but its my only language :)
