Yes when it cools it will start and run again for about 10 mins but sluggish.
I have Dyna S
I'm slowly going through all the wires and coils to see it that may be the issue.
I am suspicious of the acewell tach cord and thinking about it now it started after I added it. Is it possible that the wire could oveloading the coil?

So it is finally warm enough to work in my crummy shed and I'm back looking for the issue. Good news I can replicate the issue in the shed.
after about 10-15mins bike starts to die if you apply throttle it stalls, I tried putting on the choke progressively to see if I could keep it idling but it eventually stalls with full choke.
"Tank -> Clear tube in-line fuel filter -> carbies... Gas flowing?"
I did fix a kink in my fuel line. My petcock is new from z1 and I didn't have any issues with the old one, the seals are toast on it so can't try it.
"
NOTE: I realize you mentioned Dyna coils but not the ignition pickups so just asking...
I have dyna coils and ignition.
one thing that was added was an acewell tack/speedo that wraps around the ignition coil to read the RPM.

well u came to the right place there are lots of great guys here to help u out. the acewell is a popular fix. if u go that rout, i would just cut out an aluminum plate by hand . just bolt the plate to the tree and mount the acewell. done.
how fancy u get is up to u. but if time and cash are limited, i would keep it simple and get it done. Worry about fancy stuff when the time comes.

here are a few pics of the upper tree. there would be a lot of cutting and adding of material to make it work . I am not sure if its worth the effort for someone or not. I figured after shipping, it might be easier to just get a clean slate. the last picture is an ebay image. i saw this one from a ZX1100 and thought that would be easy to modify. and it is just $40 and free shipping. but it is designed for a smaller fork tube, but i figured that would be easy to machine out a bit.
I had hopped for modern dual guages with electronic inputs, since the LTD was equipped for them. But those guages are out of my price range, and I would still need to create dummy lights (bright. oil pressure, turn, neutral, ect) so now my thoughts are of an ACEWELL full function digital guage.
but I am very open to suggestions, I had to move away from all of my biker buddies and have no one to brainstorm with these days. school and work take up too much time to make any connection in my area.

good luck buddy. you will need it. i work 60 hrs/week and take 2 night classes, and have very little time for the family. i have been at it for 2 years now and have many, many years left.
but you do have a bonus i dont... my bike is in pieces. so i dont get to ride and have little time to fix my bike. I hope to make better use of my time and get it back together over the summer

Looks great. How did it go hooking up that Acewell? I just ordered one myself. Is it a pretty simple process? How about calibrating it?
