81' kz 440b are there 2 sets of brake shoes on front drum......and does anyone know where to find at a reasonable cost. thx to isben22000 i found at denniskirk, but were pricey. if there are 2 sets it would be down right expensive from denniskirk.....

Kawi shows it as the same as the '78 KZ400C as well as others. However, I also see that 41048-019 has been superseded with 41048-1090. Perhaps, Biquetoast can to a p/n where used query for that p/n so that you could search CK to see if something else shows up under other listings.

EDIT: Ron Ayers shows $38 for the front shoes and $24 for the rear shoes for Kawi parts. I know DK has rear shoes for $21 as well.

thx for the info. but still need to know are there 2 pair of shoes on front drum or 1. and denniskirk have the fronts for 33.00. found them for 21.00 from bikebarn but are back ordered.

There is only (1) pair of shoes...check out your bike on www.buykawasaki.com. Choose "owner info" and "parts diagrams" the rest is self explanatory. Check out the diagrams there for all your parts needs! ;)

There is only one pair (two shoes). And as I wrote in the post on the old site, all the front drum brake 400 and 440 models are using the same shoes.

And BikeBandit do have them: Parts # 587828-001 SHOE-BRAKE (KZ400S)US FRONT HUB/BRAKE, but the price is $24,64 for one shoe, $49.28 in total

i'm up to speed thx, you guys are great. originally ordered from bikebarn. are backordered so i took your advise i ordered from dennis kirk will be here on friday...are u kidden bikebarn sells as one piece, have to be installed as pairs. very misleading
