Lost a buddy this past week that was one good dude. The type of guy that would give his shirt off his back if you asked him to.
You guys would have loved him. He was a resto nut and loved his Kawasaki's. He's also the one that was the enabler in the process of buying my KZ900 way back when. I had recently moved to Phoenix, gave him a call and said I was interested in buying a Harley. I think his exact words were "why the hell would you want to do that?" He then said someone had dropped off a brown KZ900 that was a little rough but would be beautiful when we finished with it. He was right.
He had this quote by Hunter Thompson hanging in his garage and it's exactly how he lived his life.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
RIP Bart, I truly enjoyed our time together.
A few pics of some of his collection.
