How old is the battery, and have you tried charging it?

Just one thing....never jump a motorcycle battery from a running car/truck.

Unless it's NOT your bike...

You guys have too much fun here.... I thought this was an "adult-oriented" forum. (j/k, yesterday some lady told me I was hanging out in their "adult-oriented" sub-division).

kzinaz: If the battery turns the engine over a like a dying slave when you try to start, its probably seen better days. It's too late to save it at this point anyways. Check and/or repair the charging system as prescribed and replace battery.

i jumped it with one of those jumpers that you keep in your car and plug in so it can charge. it's meant to jump cars. since you told me not to jump it from a car/truck i'm ussuming that this is bad. why shouldn't i jump it like that?

He said "do not jump it from a ""RUNNING"" car/truck". Unless you want to fry your reg/rec anyway :)

Sounds like you somehow put the batteries in series giving you 24v. The car would have only had around 15v which shouldn't blow up the ignition or bulbs.

The reason why the regulator blows up is that it is trying to reduce the voltage from the car by shorting out the excess. But the car keeps putting out more and more to compensate.
