This problem is usually fuse clips have gone bad and melted the 20A fuse or the ignition switch has bad contacts and melted the wires off the switch. I wouldn't use a $15 switch unless for sure that is the problem. Switch is no longer available through Kawasaki so any aftermarket switch will be chinese and take some fabrication to make work. Kawasaki was over $100 for the switch when it was last sold.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Not sure if you have them on your bike, but check under the headlight for 2 grounds, attached to the signals.

The Emgo from Parts Unlimited has the correct connector and everything. Before I try it, I will make sure it pins out correctly.

Thought those ground washers were strictly for the turn signals in the front. Anyways, those looked good. I will know more tonight........

So, here's a lesson to all. Don't check a battery by doing just a voltage check with a multi meter.

Checked it using my test light and it took a few seconds before the light would glow. Hooked a booster pack to the battery cables and everything works fine.

I feel pretty dumb right now!!

you wont make that mistake again so it was a lesson learned then always make sure that you have proper battery voltage before you lose your mind.
