Well i finally found some time to finish these suckers up! I ended up going with the UV spray and some gloss self adhesive paper.
Of course in true fashion i have to take them back apart and make a new backing plate. I used to old black one and the gauges just aren't bright enough for me. Think I am going to get some Lexan or plexiglass and make a new back, or look into different LEDs. The LEDs i bought throw off a wicked bright light forward but not much to the sides. Here are some pics ....

They definitely look great! Do you have a trick for separating the gauges and clamping them back together? That's what scares me the most

LOL .. i wish i did man! I basically used a thin flathead screw driver and a pair of bent nose needle nose pliers. IT was a bitch getting them apart. It was easier putting them back together as I just crimped them down with the pliers. Your probably going to bend them up all ugly either way.
I bought chrome gauge covers cause it basically covers everything i just made ugly!
Good luck man. I wasn't a horrible experience by any means, just some work. A few things to be aware of ...
Be careful putting the new face on and make sure your surface is clean and you match up your lines for accuracy.
It was tough getting the needles back on so they sit right. You can tell in the pic i was a tad off on the tach! :pinch: No biggie though, I know when to shift and how to set an idle.
