I will pay $15 for this start switch piece. It holds the light lever in place on some late 70s KZ bikes. I was putting a new start button in my son in laws KZ650 when my 2 yr. old grand daughter tossed the cup full of parts off of a 2nd story deck in to tall grass & weeds. Aside from all of the tiny screws, this is the one piece we couldn't find.  email is best    This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

A magnet sometimes saves the day.  I've located some critical parts caught up in a similar debacle before, that way.

Hate to admit it but I've done a lot of magnet fishing myself, successful less than half the time. But I don't blame you for giving up sometimes you have to know when to stop.

The wiring runs through the handlebars on this bike and that is the reason why i can't just pop another switch on it.......

From the cross-reference at Partzilla a number of 70s models had the same RH handlebar control & lighting switch knob.
Not $15 cheap, but using the x-ref there's a complete 750B RH handlebar control on EB for $25T+tax with Make Offer button, so you can probably get it for a bit less than that.

Could you not buy a used switch and harvest the parts you need rather than replacing the unit ?

I scanned fleabay start switches but getting a buyer to look inside a to answer a question is unlikely to happen. I put the switch back together with the head light left in the on position. If anyone runs across this part I'm happy to buy it......
