Hi Guys, casting my net wide I know but my Z1100R is currently getting an engine rebuild and amongst other problems, it appears the exhaust camshaft is "blued" but just within service limits, so ive been advised to try and find a decent used one to be on safe side as NOS parts are no longer available.

Having looked at the CMSNL website part diagram, it appears the part no for inlet and exhaust are the same, 12044-1057 and they are common to the ELR and the 83-85 Z1100A1-A3, aka the Gpz 1100 unitrak.

Does anyone have one in good condition they would be willing to part with, any help or advice appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

KZ/GPZ1100 cams are different in duration and lift ,so the engine power/torque band can perfom from mild to hot.
Can you please post some pics of your "blued" exhaust camshaft.

Here are some GPZ1100 B cams for sale: www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/kawa.../2110995153-306-5489

Hi

Thanks for reply, I'm just going on basis of CSMNL info that the camshaft 12044-1057 is the correct one for my ELR  and that Gpz B ones aren't correct.

Bike is with the engine builder at the minute, he informs me the camshaft is still just within service limits but it would be worth trying to find another.

Will just need to watch ebay carefully.

Mikaw I believe these are duration specs in degrees, that being the case 300 degrees is pretty "cam-y" for a stock motor (280-290 is common as a "fast road" spec)
