Hey guys - Well....it happened: An excellent condition (but needing a little freshening) '81 CB900F popped up in my neck of the woods. I had one about 10yrs ago and have missed it ever since I had to tear it apart and sell it in boxes after the timing chain snapped and took the engine with it.This was Paulie's...a forum member here from NYC. He did all the work. Everything was done EXCEPT splitting the cases. I re-jetted the mains because it was too rich...and I'd probably drop the needles a few notches to get it even closer to being what it can be. Starts easily every spring. I've had it for...ohhh..boy..like 3 seasons? Got it with 22,xxx on it and I'll click over 30k this weekend. It has a Mac on it that I kind of hate...honestly. Haven't been able to afford a Kerker or Delk yet (I'm an artist).Starts, rides, stops, and idles very well despite a leaky tach out the front...and perhaps a weep on the left side of the head. If I keep it, I'll probably take it to our local retro shop, Nova Cycles here in Turner's Falls. They're great. The plan was to give it to them for a head freshening and a 30k valve job this winter.BUT - if someone is interested in the 16-1900.00 range....give me a holler. I'm riding it all fall and will continue to do so. Again, fires right up, one kick typically, (oh, right: the starter clutch slips when hot...but works cold. I just kick it when warm. Never been stranded)...and off you go. Great low and mid range....needs a final tune for top top top lightspeed blasting.I can get more pics if folks are really interested. It's a great bike. I've loved the heck out of it and, honestly, as I ripped back through the hilltowns of western MA last night after seeing the 900F, I wondered....man...do I even want to sell this thing?Good value in that price range. Paulie did an amazing job. There are SOME parts too if you like, but I've sold most of the goodies.Cheers, guys.-Ben
