Does anyone else think it might be kinda nice to have a thread specifically for this kind of stuff? Like, a reference point for people to use?

Anyone that can think of anything else please add to this!

-APE Studs

-APE Nuts for those there studs

-APE Cam Chain Tensioner

-Heavy Duty Cam Chain

I think ZX9 rods will fit, Ill have to try and find where I read that, but I dont think much is needed to be done to the bottom end. Lorcan is running a stock bottom end and is using 30psi on an 810 thats pumping out 236 HP at the wheel

Found what I was thinking of
From the GPZ modification FAQ

The normally aspirated GPz has a 36mm crank and 35mm rod journal bottom end that is of identical size as the GPz 900 and ZX 10 cranks. The Carrillo and Falicon aftermarket rods are still available for this motor that will withstand any abuse. Only the dragracer that has 880 cc or more in this motor running a nitrous system would need this equipment.

the kz650/750 and gpz750 all swap cranks I believe with the only difference being the earlier 650s using a roller cam chain instead of a hyvo cam chain, but this has no effect on rods

I swear i read somewhere that the 750 turbo cranks were nitirded from the factory..even if it wasn't true it wouldn't be a bad idea, nor would polishing the beams on the rods.

nitriding is a heat treating process chevy used to do same thing to hi end big block cranks but it only goes a few thousandths into the metal and normal wear or even polishing crank can blow right through it;) i would think good rod bolts, shot peening and polishing beams, main studs and a good balancing would do the trick in most situations;)oh yeah tuff triding was another process used;)

A good tread under search on this subject is crank treatments.

Like the idea of the hd cam chain and Ape tentioner but studs and nuts probally not unless your planning on nitrous or a turbo.

Always planned on having the rods shot peened and like the idea of polishing the beams and at least new bolts and nuts with the chevy ARPs maybe sounding better.

Hoping for more ideas.;)

Bear in mind I am using 750 turbo rods, not KZ650 rods. I'm not aware of any nitriding on the crank. As far as I am aware only the primary drive gear and camchain drive gear are different.
