Does the tool grab the stud? If so, smack the top of each stud with a hammer to shock ther threads loose in the case. Careful you don't miss and hit something else and damage it.

Be sure to put the stud puller as close to the bottom as possible to help prevent twisting the stud.

If whack no work perhaps heat to soften thread lock compound which 'might' be there? Knurled piece should bite into stud. You may have to apply a little pressure directly to it until it bites. If it's a POC AKA POS the knurling will bend and slide on the stud and you'd best return the tool in exchange for your $. Implied warranty is that a tool be suitable for advertised use.
