The topic should be "Look what this idiot did". The idiot would be me. I was taking the shims out of the buckets to do an adjutment. I was using a pick to pop them out. The very last one was a little hard coming out. It finally popped out... then bounced around the head and right into the cam chain valley. I had to take the oil pan off to get to it. I found it and decided to have a look while I was there. My oil pump was completely covered by this fiber like substance. It looks like fiberglass. It was allowing oil to pass thru cause I had good oil pressure. It came off as one piece and looks like it was made to go over the pump strainer. I had the motor %100 apart a few years ago and I put every last nut and bolt on it so I know it wasn't there before. What the hell could it be? I can tear pieces off. If I try to pull the fibers apart, like if you were to pull a piece of hair into two pieces, it is very strong stuff. It looks to be clear but of course it is oil colored right now. I don't have any clear plastic that it could be. Only thing I can think of is an oil additive maybe. I use Lucas at every oil change and thats it. Any gasket sealer I use is either orange or black, nothing clear. I will add a pic tomorrow. I am scratching my head on this one. Thanks

I used three(Tree)-bond once and it was all over the pick-up screen but it was a yellow-ish color.

Here is a pic. Most of the crap you see is just stuff it picked up while on the garage floor. It did have a bit of crap in it but it was little pieces of gasket and what not. It looks like something you peel of the drain after your wife takes a shower.

Oil filer is new. I replace them about every 500 miles. They don't look chewed up or anything. As far as enemies..I might have a few. I have been reving the bike up with open header. Neighbors might be trying to shut me up.

Could it be the remains of a paper towel or a shop towel? It does look fiberous.
