What kind of oil should i go with?

What kind of oil should be put in a kz900 with around 35k miles on it? The bike runs strong no engine noise and it smokes a tiny bit, the smoke is white.The smoke is hardly noticable, friend of mine wants to make sure he does the right oil. He was told 20w50 semi synthetic, but wants me ta ask ya'll for your opinion.

You mean you couldn't find the thread that exists on this very topic???

ok, so i read that topic. And i ask again what kind of oil should i tell him ta use? 20w50 castrol?:whistle: :huh: :S

i usually read all the topics but at this point he was trying ta get to a store ta buy the oil tonight so i figured i'd just toss the question out there. Thanks for the heads up though.

Touchy subject around here, it pretty much always degenerates into an argument, and nothing ever gets settled.

i agree .on a bike with that many miles id be seriously worried about switching to synthetic oil.i remember the last time we changed pterosaurs(aka birdman)diet from his usual roadkill and scrap aluminum to that leafy green stuff:sick: it took weeks to clean the birdcrap off all my pictures!:S switching oils has the same affect somtimes! dont thank me,were all in this together.im pullin for ya!

damn i dont remember seeing that in the forecast!good thing i took the coupe instead of the bike!

So is synthetic oil bad for old motors?
