These are the cups I took out of my 550 starter clutch.
The one on the right is pretty obviously shattered at the end that bears on the roller. One of the cups I took out of my 750B4 was damaged but it was collapsed on the other end, away from the roller.

24 Dec 2013 04:46Damn! So back to Powerstroke's question, if you're having starter clutch issues I'd start with a rebuild kit. It'll come with springs, end caps and rollers. Mine ate a couple of springs (not the caps like BIll's) and I'm still chasing gremlins with it, but I'd start with a rebuild kit and see if that resolves your issue.
