I don’t know how much HP early ones made (they were introduced in 1998), no doubt less than newer ones and maybe even less than the 110 you mention. In the specs for the 2001-2011 models (see table in the link below), the R6 HP ranges anywhere from 115 – 133 depending on the model and whether or not is has direct air induction. Of course these numbers are from the factory, so they could be rather optimistic. Notice power peaks at 13k rpm for the 2001-2005 models and at 14.5k rpm for later models, so their 17,500 rpm redline (which was bogus anyway if you read the text in the link) doesn’t buy them much except more numbers on their tach. The HP of the bike you ran against could be almost anything depending on which model and whether it has been flogged so much that is has lost a bit of ooomph. Not taking anything away from your bike, just saying depending of the specific R6 and the riders a hot KZ might show him the tailpipe or he might show the KZ his. Keep us posted.

The one I raced is a 2008 and has 110hp. I also read about the bogus tach
Yamaha wanted to recall the tach face I guess.

I’ve decided to take a page from the Yamahahaha engineering book and change the faceplate on my tach so all the numbers are doubled. This will give me an indicated 18,000 rpm redline thus giving me 500 rpm more than the R6 bike’s 17,500 rpm redline. I just need to change this:

Well we're talking about Spec's and speculation... So if you're Ass Hairs are out of place because the R6 is more or less a 100lbs, lighter and has 9 more HP on paper, that's YOUR issue. :woohoo:
As far as beating GSXR1000's with a "Stock" GPz750.... Ain't gonna happen..
