the back of my heritage lit up like the 4th of july and made a statement when the signals were on. My Goldwing is fairly easy to read from behind. the KZ is a friday night bike with the boys. not much highway or freeway riding. but with that said following the sport bikes with integrated lights (seems everyone has one these days) I haven't had any problems destinguishing between the brake and turn, but then again I ride so I may be a little more aware of the riders.
The chick who cut into my lane was looking at me while arguing with someone on her cellphone putting her makeup on wouldn't have seen me with a searchlight mounted to my bike.
and I am sure the federal law says if it came out with signals, you must have them and they must be in working order.
When on a ride my girl always uses the hand gestures to alert the riders behind us as well as pointing out road deris or rough pavement pothholes etc.. but yeah most drivers dont understand hand signals this day and age but it does make them aware of you. As if my unbaffled vance and hines doesnt already.
most of the customs I ride with dont have signals and the only time we have been harrassed is for brakelight or bad placement of license plate. Knock on wood
