Basically to assure that the coil is actually receiving any "un-grounding" signal actually being furnished through the green wire from the 3 o'clock Dyna-S module.
A brand new Dyna-S would presumably include a "good" green wire, but that's an expensive way to resolve what might be just a connectivity problem with the green wire. :lol:
Hoping for the easiest, quickest and least expensive solution.

I like the way you think Patton! The cheaper the better is the way i like to roll. When i get home tonight i am going to inspect the wire and connections again. This will be my last over view before traveling other avenues. I will be sure to let you all know what i find tonight.

Let's say that conductivity through the green wire is determined to be just fine.
If not already done, here's an experiment to test the 3 o'clock Dyna-S pickup module.
Re-install the Dyna-S rotor 180° out so that the magnet points toward the 3 o'clock pickup module when the 1/4 F mark aligns with the permanent case timing mark.
And reverse the black and green wires' connections to the coils, so that the now "green" wired coil is firing the outside plugs on cylinders 1&4.
Engine should run normally unless there is a continuing problem with the 3 o'clock pickup module in which event the mis-firing will now be on cylinders 1&4.

That isn't a bad idea Patton! I am willing to try everything up until next week, if not resolved by then i am going to have to throw in the towel on this one. I have already missed 70% of the riding season cause of these issues, not looking forward to losing much more.

I found my points i had ordered before i realized i had a dyna on my bike. What would i need exactly to switch from the dyna back to points? i know i need a points plate condensors and is that all? would i just swap out the dyna for the original points plate?

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a new Dyna S today. Hpefully this is the solution to the issues i have been having. Will let you all know in a few days when it comes in.

Well out comes the truth. I sent the dyna back to dyna s and it turned out to be a dead module. Now my issue is timing the new one. Thought I had it figured out but now it its breaking up in high, rpm 6k. I did the static test seemed good but now it is worse. Do I need to leave the advancer open during this test? The light came on near f every time but would stay on a half inch past f counter clockwise

Would ignore the full advance marks, and just dynamic time by aligning the F mark with case mark at idle rpm.
Repeat for 2/3 F mark. If need be, may create a 2/3 F mark at 180 degrees from the 1/4 F mark.

what case marks? I only have marks on the advancer. This is a brand new dyna s ignition system (I did not install the first one) I am a bit confused on the whole dynamic timing. Would the timing be the issue with the breaking up in high rpm's?
