I read somewhere that guys are using this and are able to keep big engines cool on the street. Such 1300+ engines.

Use it? Hell I've never even seen any place in this state that sells it. It sure makes all of those flex fuel vehicles I see running around seem pointless.

Never seen it in your state????? Here in South Dakota almost every pump has it!! I recently built a turbo four banger car and am using it because with e-85's high octane level i dont need race fuel to push 15+ lbs of boost. Yes its corrosive and you need to burn soo much more of it, but to solve this i am using braided fuel lines, and 1200cc injectors (stock are 209cc!) I always hear people saying nothing good about e-85 and bikes but i guess i really dont see why it wouldnt work if you use huge jets and get the rubber out of the fuel system

thats a good question, i know ive seen methanol jets for rs mikuni's. Does anybody run e-85 or heard of anyone running it? It has to be possible, its not like re-inventing the wheel or anything, its just all about getting enough fuel. Im really interested now because im gona need as much help as possible cooling the 1428 and high octane fuel i can get at the pump would be a huge step

Actually, E85 is not corrosive unless it has a lot of water in it. It will, however, eat older rubber parts (late 80's down). Most people think it is highly corrosive because they confuse the ETHANOL in it with METHANOL which is highly corrosive as well as highly poisonous. Ethanol is the stuff you get drunk on.
E85 will clean an old fuel system out very well. If your system is dirty you will be changing fuel filters often till all the gasoline deposits are gone.
E85 also does not vaporize well below about 40 degrees. Because of this a carbed engine will most likely be very hard to start in cold weather. I'm sure a quick shot of ether would solve this though.
When converting an engine, you will need to increase jet sizes about 20% to get enough fuel volume for proper mixtures. Not double them as is needed for methanol. You will also need to dial in a bit faster timing curve on some engines.
Fuel economy will drop about 15% on E85 compared to gas unless you raise the compression. Low & mid range torque often improves. Some engines will not lose as much due to alcohol's ability to burn leaner than gas at light loads though.
NOTE: this information is based on my own research and experience running a 1986 Plymouth Caravelle converted to E85. I have not tried a bike yet.

I worked on a twin turbo Viper that ran on E85, EFI. You have to chose fuel system components carefully but it is doable. Not allowing that stuff to sit in carbed bikes is recomended. For EFI stuff plenty of E85 and alcohol fuel components are avalible. BTW, I saw that Viper made 1800hp!
