Seen in Limon, Co

My little brother saw this in Limon, CO the other day. The guy said he was buying up 70's Japanese bikes across the country and shipping them to Japan for big $$.

I had one jerk trying to convince me my bike was only worth $300. I had posted it to see what kind of responses I'd get. He or they kept flagging my ad.
He kept pestering me so I decided to have fun with these pricks and kept reposting.
With very little money I was getting her to look pretty good.
They were going NUTS. :woohoo: Then I got some real money to put into her.
Put my cell in the ad so I could tell them what I thought of them.
Had to keep making new posts and one guy told me he didn't want to buy it, he just wanted to know where I park it. I told him I have a 44 lead pill waiting for him.
One guy offered $3500. In my ad I said bottom feeders need not apply.
There's no way I'd sell it and making the low lives drool wasn't fun anymore. So I just ride and enjoy.
Sometimes I don't like the attention she gets from those that don't have two dimes to rub together. Most are genuine and I thank them.

The same was happening to the UK and AUS for while as well, I think the flow has slowed considerably. It is really a reflection of global economic conditions. When the USD is weak compared to the local currency, there's a big market for importing bikes. When things reverse, the flow reverses. I've noticed a small trend in Canadian bike coming to the US recently.
15 years ago I took a 74 H2 to an area Japanese vintage show. I had no intentions of selling the bike. A Japanese gentlemen approached and was studying the bike, but didn't speak. Soon another gentleman approached with a clipboard. They spoke in Japanese and the second one asked me if the bike was for sale. I told him it wasn't, which he relayed to the first. He then said his boss highly desired my motorcycle and could I at least give a price. I tripled what I thought the market value to end the discussion. He relayed my price to his boss and much to my surprise he said told me that his boss was highly honored to purchase my motorcycle for that price. The clip board guy paid cash and didn't even ask for the title. His boss walked off to look for other bikes. 2 guys came by a half hour later and pushed the bike away. I knew the bike was headed for Japan, and I had a twinge of guilt. That went away when I paid cash for a 73 Z1 I'd had my eye on later that week.

It;s the ones that lowball you just to make more money or hack it up to sell as parts I don't like. I flag the local ads. They never want to pay even close to what they're worth.
