If you're going to quote me be complete. If I were to buy a new truck it wouldn't be one of the "Big Three."

Why? Aren't any of the "Big 3" heavy duty enough? :)

I used to work for Nissan and the Titan truck was pretty much a POS, other than the engine (which was awesome). Nissan's US design center, as is Toyota's, is in Michigan, and is populated by mostly ex "big three" design engineers.

Just have to wonder how many of those "Big Three" trucks will still be on the road in 40 years.

Looking on the bright side (well, maybe not really bright) I won't be on the road in 40 years unless I'm still alive and driving when I'm more than 100 years old. If I am, folks better watch out when they see me coming! :woohoo: Ed

I have 7 Owners manuals for different bikes:
2001 Vulcan 800, 2004 Vulcan 750:
SE, SF,SG or SH,SJ with JASO MA
99 Vulcan Nomad fuel injection:
SE, SF,SG
Suzuki LS650
SF SG
97 Yamaha XJ650S
SE SF
2005 Kaw KLR650
SE, SF,SG or SH,SJ with JASO MA
85 Honda VF1100 Sabre SE SF

As you can see, you can use automotive oils SE SF SG, which are probably only diesel oils.
My slipping problem was from wrong oil, cheap oils used to be SG, now cheap oil is SN, not good for bikes.
I''l check diesel oils tomorrow.
thanks to members who told me about wrong oil and my slipping clutches.

SN is not "cheap" oil, it's the latest automotive API Service rating for cars. It's not the best stuff for motorcycles, largely because of the low zinc and phosphorus levels. Some versions may have extra additives which can hurt your clutch too.

For older vehicles the current API spec is SL. I'd still try to avoid automotive oil though. Diesel or motorcycle oil is a better choice.

Amen. A gallon of Rotella at Wallys is something like $15. Why push change limits?
