700cc Wiseco kit 10 to 1.
1980 KZ750 cam, ape springs, stock clutch/ Barnett springs.
Vance and Hines Header w/ comp baffle and Ape pods, Dyna S and green coils, copper wires.
29MM smooth bores W/ 17.5 pilots, 0-6s and 117.5 main
16/42 gearing X ring chain and alum rear JT sprocket.

I've titled two different bikes in California that didn't have titles. One bike was never titled from new. There are ways. Easiest thing is to get that last registered owner to sign the lost title form, or at least get his approval for you to sign for him.

My discussion with the seller has me thinking that I won't be able to make contact with the uncle, who was most likely the last registered owner.

Here you send a registered letter to the previous owner. If it comes back undelivered, you're on your way.
Good thing about that is, most people see a registered letter and don't open them or refuse them. Always bad news. :dry: You also have a copy of it being sent.
