70's Super Bikes

The August 2015 issue of "Classic Bike" magazine has a really fun article on motorcycles from the 70's. There is a Z1 on the cover. The author of the article went to see a collection of 70's super bikes owned by one gentleman in England (it is a British mag). The guy let him ride several bikes from the collection and the article describes each bike and the guy's experience riding it. This guy doesn't buy restored bikes but looks to buy original condition gems. He must be loaded. It is a really nice collection and an interesting article.

Bikes included in the article are a 1973 Kawasaki 900 Z1, a 1972 Kawasaki H2, Honda CB750, Honda CB500, Yamaha RD400, 1978 Suzuki GS1000, 1977 Suzuki GT750 (water buffalo), 1980 CBX1000, etc.

Here's a YouTube video they made of the experience

Here's a link to the web site with pictures and write-up of all the guys bikes www.properbikes.co.uk/

Enjoy!

The early goldwings are a blast I've owned a few kz1000s and a bunch of misc other bikes (gs1000, cb750 etc) the wing is fun, smooth and a good handler. I still love the kzs, but I've been rocking the wing while I am building the kz, then when the kz gets done the hotrodded 1200 goldwing motor goes in for some real fun

Great video and link. Thanks for posting. Brings back a lot of memories. In the mid 70 s I had the cb500/4 . Great bike. It would do 70 mph all day. Sold it shortly after getting married which was followed by a long bikeless period until the KZ came along.

Il'll look out for the mag on the newsstands
