Gearing
19 Jul 2014 17:57
I am new to the form. I recently purchased a 1993 Kawasaki ZR1100. I love the bike, but the prior owner had changed the drive sprockets to lower the gear ratio. I wold like to highway the bike without laboring the engine. I've never had the opportunity to ride a ZR with the stock set up. Need advise on wither to go back stock, or a touch higher. Thanks

According to the diagrams at Kawasaki.com, the stock sprockets are: 16T Fr & 48T Rr.
You'll need to count the teeth on your current sprockets, then figure out what changes to make.
GearingCommander is handy for comparing sprocket changes. The 93 ZR1100 is loaded in the database.
