Vintage Bassani ads

Howdy. I'm looking for pics, or vintage Bassani ads from around '78-'80 that show the Bassani Superbike pipe on a KZ1000. Trying to find out what the badgeing looked like and where it was placed on the pipe.
Some of you guys have a ton of bike mags from back then and should have an ad or two that I can look at. Heck, even better, somebody might have a pipe with the badge still on it!!! :woohoo:
I was the one that kept all the Hot Rod and Car Craft mags instead of my bike mags. :pinch:
Bassani has a name plate on their web site that looks a lot like the pics I've seen of the Superbike pipe name plate from the day.

Yes, yes, yes. Right before I started this thread, I saw a vintage ad on dadsvintageads.com with Pridemore's bike in the ad from 1980. Couldn't get a good look at it in the picture.

Here is the name plate on Bassani's web site. Looks like the one to get. Thanks a bunch Medina. I have read that story once before and have seen those pics, but my memory is a thing of the past. Thank goodness for guys like you that can help guys like me that have CRS disease

Wow...bringing up memories on this topic. I ran a Bassani on my KZ650 years ago, only mine was for race use only and the tag was a riveted on square with the specs for the pipe listed on it, plus the fact that it was for off road use only....but I actually found a trooper to give me a pass on a decibel test, even though it almost broke his meter...must have been a real biker :-)

I find it odd they went out of business, in all my years I have yet to find any pipe with as good a characteristics as they had...although Yoshimura was close on the Suzukis.

Yeah, brings back good memories, huh? As far as I know, Bassani never went out of business. I know he got into automotive exhaust in the late 80s and early 90s.
He's also got a ton of Hardley pipes.
I had a set of Bassani pipes on my Road King that made great power and had a unique sound all to their own. Sorta like the Superbike pipe on the KZ1000  :cheer:

I just got off the phone with Daryl Bassani in regards to the proper badge for the Superbike pipe.
The badge offered on his website is what was installed on all the pipes he sponsored racers with. The original badge for the production pipe, like the one KZP20Rider mentioned, has the pipe specs on it. Daryl took my information and is going to look for a badge for me in his old parts. COOL! B)
Either way, I'll have one that is correct for that era. :cheer:

A pipe or a badge? They pop up every now and then, not often as Kerkers. :(
