You might want to squeeze those boots from the carbs to the airbox to see if they are soft or hard and cracked. I'm not positive but new ones might be unobtanium. Other than that it looks right in pictures to me.

i have this bike...only thing i ever had to do to it was brake pads, tires, and a starter over the past 23 years...they are good bikes,..not big for cruising,...but very dependable for me...keep the oil changed!!!! ps i paid 580$ for mine in 1987....

i had a 440 ltd also---i would not recommend buying one...mine never ran right despite a great mechanic.....i always thought it was too small and light for the highway and there is a HUGE difference between the 440 and 550 feel on the road...

You'r absolutely right. Below is a pic of another 1991 550 Zephyr. The question is - why wouldn't the seller disclose this when trying to sell the bike?
