Show up with a $1,000 check, 5 $100 bills and 2 $50 bills (all in different pockets so if he asks for more money he won't see you pull out a wad of cash) and play the "I'm a die-hard Kawasaki man, but can appreciate Honda's" card.

Well the Honda is mine. As luck would have it, I got all the way home, and it starts raining as soon as I pull into the drive. So I threw a tarp on top of it to keep the rain off. I should have some documentation photos later when the storm passes.

I guess you want to know what I paid. He had been asking $1000 and then lowered his price to $800. I was going to try and get him down to $600, but I didn't have the heart. He helped me load the bike in the 95* heat, and the only real reason he was selling was that his house burned down, and he moved into the city. He no longer had the storage space at the new place so he was clearing out his old workshop that survived the fire.

T, I never owned one, But did feel they (and the 900 Dohc) were very attractive bikes. It's been years, But I seem to recall that like Ma Kaw's 903 to 1013's top ends could be swapped which made them as portant if not more so than the 2 valve GS's of the day. and with the cb1000/cb1100 fairing much more comely. congrats & enjoy G

I'm glad that I'm not alone in thinking this is an attractive bike. I love the little spoiler on the back of the fenders. You can tell that it just stopped raining. I couldn't keep the lens from fogging up. CB bondage photos:

Well, I'm planning to do a proper restoration on this one. It's so complete. On par with that GS750L that I just got rid of. The only thing is that I didn't care for the GS because it was cruiser style. This bike is bumpin' I can't wait to start cleaning. I really have been influenced by Craig's thinking a lot. This bike needs to be correct with possible period mods that can be easily reversed. I agree that the exhaust is a score. The right pipe has some rash, and the bottom of the head tubes are slightly dented, but otherwise, it's good. I think that I can accumulate the needed parts by watching ebay and buying parts off the CB1100F guys.

I decided to wheel the fleet out of the garage:

Hey Craig, could you remind me who the vendor was that you got the good seat cover for you MKII? This thing needs the seat re-covered bad, and I would prefer not to repeat your bad experience.

I do believe that these Fs did have problems with either 2nd or 3rd, so be sure to go through the tranny carefully. Other than that, have fun!
