Beware:

My wife met Roy, doctored his burned arm, and it almost cost me a divorce. Only thing that saved me was he didn't have room for her with all of the bikes and parts.

Seriously, we always have a good time and everyone we've met was really great people. Bring a trailor and a thick wallet!!!

Any of you guys buy tickets for the Motorcycle Hall of Fame raffle?

I think they're $5 a pop and you're entered to win a restored '73 Z1 as well as a '10 Z1000 (bitchin bike for those not familiar). The raffle goes down in July during the Vintage meet.

Hop to it! :P

If it has tits or tires, it'll give you problems!

Also worth noting, the Z1 was restored by Johnny's Vintage Motorcycle Company out of OH. I was checking them out online the other day, seems like a class act shop!

I'm trying to start a local "Vintage Japanese MC Owners" chapter in my area. I didn't think there'd be enough KZ owners around here. We're having our first get together later this month.

There's a national VJMC organization with a chapter on the other side of my state. I love the idea of state chapters for KZriders. I wonder how many folks there are in my state (Virginia).

I am a VJMC member (have been for years). There was a VJMC 'chapter' in Houston (4th largest city in the USA) and it folded for lack of interest...all bikes here are new and there seems to be little interest in non-V Twin bikes ...period. This was reflected in the fact that the traveling Cycle World motorcycle show dropped Houston as a venue. A huge statement.

I was a local rep for the VJMC here in SoCal for short time. I tried to have monthly meetings for over 6mos and not once did I have a card carrying member show up. I would get 4-5 interested guy's come for a meeting and see the lack of participation by the club and I would never hear from them again. The VJMC members don't like to ride their bikes either. The just trailer them to a spot for a short ride(less than 25 miles)then BS, then trailer home. I resigned my field rep status and never reupped my membership.

Yeah I only recently became a VJMC member and haven't had a chance to go to any of the get togethers yet. The chapter in VA has two shows a year, but it's really the Eastern VA chapter. VA is a long state, parts of it are actually further west than Detroit.

That's why I'm trying to start something up in my area. I've got about 15 guys signed up right now. We're having our first get together in about 10 days.

I sent PMs to every KZrider.com member in VA (about 30) over a week ago. I got 1 reply from a guy who'd moved out of state.

There are a lot of great, helpful, active folks here on KZrider. I guess there just aren't many here in Virginia.
Permanent and perpetual noob.
