Cool bike, but I think you must have missed the title of the thread! $12k+ isn't cheap by my definition anyway.
I didn't miss it, I was just being a smart ass. I've always wanted to have a nice KZ and when I bought it the way you see it I thought it was nice, but when it gets done it won't be run of the mill anymore. If that costs me a few bucks so be it. And Peter, that sure is a pretty ride you got there.

This was leaned up against a house for a couple of years. Paid $400 and have maybe $200 more into it. When I bought it she had king/ queen seat. high bars, sissy bar, engine gaurds, hiway pegs, bright purple paint and on and on. I got tires, new front and 16" rear wheels, made some pipes out of 2 old sets and a coat rack put some mini gauges removed all emblems and since the pic was taken replaced the seat with a cut down one. I still have less than $600 in it and she has less than 9000 miles on it.
