My 550 was claimed to be 440lbs totally dry, by Kawasaki.
I removed the fairing, gauges, a bunch of wiring, small relays etc and associated mounting tabs, turn signals, little frame tabs, tail light sub frame, grab rail, front fender replaced with plastic, emissions contraption, toolbox, chain guard (plastic), replaced headlight assembly with lighter assembly. All in all, probably about 20 pounds or so.
But then I added a fork brace and steering damper.
The bike weighed in at 430 lbs with fully loaded with fluids.
Removing the starter would make some difference.
This was on the yellow bike.
I haven't weighed the red bike yet, but I expect that to come in much lighter (no starter and no batt).

Ditch the heavy stock rear swingarm and suspension, ditch the heavy stock front suspension, swap in BST carbon wheels and remake your frame from some light gauge ChroMo tubing....even then, you're still sitting on a boat anchor of an engine (not as heavy as a 900/1000 but still)...not much you can do about that for a street bike. How far are you willing to go, and how stock do you want the bike to look?
Depending on how well fed you are, it might be cheaper to loose some of your own weight before you attack your bike. I know that would certainly be the case in my circumstance

Looks like you've already gotten rid of the easy weight loss items.

So true, and it doesn't even need an alternator. And I bet the rider runs it in heavy rain, sits at red lights, drives it at partial throttle and low speeds in traffic, etc. etc. Oh no, what's that you say, it's a single purpose race bike, I never would have guessed.

Not only is it running no airbox, it's using no filters at all, just straight velocity stacks. So if your point was to compare it to individual (pod) filters, it's apples to oranges.
