The "B" on the original exhaust is normal for the "C" model. I am the original owner of a '77 KZ650-C1 and the exhaust has the "B." I guess it's because the B and C models shared the same exhaust. You got a really great deal and I'm happy to see that you plan to restore rather than cut. Cutting a nice original bike doesn't make sense to me when there are so many bikes available that are not original. Ed

Coming along nice. It "had" a rear fender in the first picture. Hopefully going back on.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

nahh, im not going to run the fender as long as i have it, i made some brackets out of aluminum so the tail light tucks away under the fender a little bit, i like how it looks better...

but i do have the fender, but it needs paint... I will keep it for the future

did a little sanding and painting today....turned out excellent!

I used rattle can Rustoleum black primer and Rustoleum "Mettalic Black Knight" spray paint.
I am VERY impressed with this paint, its isnt quite as good as regular spray gun paint but it lays down very well for spray paint.
