Another confused seller on Ebay

These rotors came off a '74 Z1 900? Gee, my 900 has a 4 bolt pattern, not 6...

I just post these examples to warn buyers, read the auction add carefully and look closely at the Pics before you buy.

look right to me.... 73 to 73 Z1-900 take 6 bolt, 76 KZ900 and 77-80 KZ1000 take 4 bolt front rotors.

I agree with bob_z1, my 74 Z1 rotor is held on with 6 bolts and my factory manual shows that the 73-75 Z1 rotors changed to a 4 bolt pattern for the 96 KZ.
If your 900 has a 4 bolt pattern rotor, then it isn't from a 74. Probably has a 96 or later wheel and rotor.

The 6-bolt pattern IS CORRECT for the Z1. The 4-bolt pattern is on the KZ900 and KZ1000 models.

Hey Rick, make sure you check you bike over carefully before you buy any more parts. You might have other parts that are not correct. It would suck to order aprts that do not fit because someone switched stuff on the bike without you knowing it.

It could happen to anyone.
Many years ago I put a correct for the Z1, Lester rear mag on my 74 . Went looking for a matching front Lester for about 18 months and finally found a "used" but never mounted front, at a nice price. Got it home to find it was for a 4-bolt 96 KZ900. Instead of returning it, I figured I'd swap out all the front end hardware necessary to use the 96 mag, as well as adding a second rotor kit when I did the swap. Never got around to doing the swap, so the mag is sitting in the garage somewhere. If I had been a more industrious person and then eventually sold the 74, it's possible that the new owner would have been convinced the 74Z1 had 4 bolt rotors on front.
z1rick, I see that you have a 74 project. I hope to get into a restoration of my old 74 starting this coming spring. I'll be interested in your progress.
