Few closeups of the pipe. I ordered this one special and it was no extra cost, had them put more up swing on the collector, I just ordered another one yesterday as well only not blued, just stainless.

We're using KYB's shocks off of a ZRX 1200, the wheels are 2017 R1's, having the outers polished and the centers painted to match this gold on the shocks.

Motor is getting powder coated black, hoping this will be on the ground running before end of month. I got the frame back today from blasting, start adding gussets and trimming off unnecessary tabs and brackets. Someone had cut the rear turnsignal mounts off, if any one has a bad chassis that they could cut the tail off of, I'd be interested in it.

Chassis back from blaster and fab work started. Got the gussets welded in the backbone neck area, tabs cut off that are not being used and holes drilled in frame for modified shock location.

Sat the tank on it just to get some mental pictures, decided to go with a metallic silver color on the frame .

Wheels, tires and tubes ordered and should have the chassis finished and started back together by the time they get here, 4 weeks

Little free time on the CNC, whipped up a couple billet clutch covers with Windows in them. I like the 2nd one better

Why don't you go all the way, and build a dry clutch like the GSXR750RG set up for your KZ!!!
1972 H2 750 Cafe Racer built in 1974.
1976 KH400 Production Road Racer.
1979 Kz1000 MK. II Old AMA/WERA Superbike.
1986 RG500G 2 stroke terror.
1986 GSXR750RG The one with the clutch that rattles!

Up in the hills near Prescott, Az.

Those welds are artwork! Always amazed at people with the skill level to TIG thinwall tubing like that. Thanks, Les, for sharing all of the pics of your project. Looks like a lot of progress in a relatively short amount of time!

I really like the look of the red paint Les. Will the frame silver be a plain high gloss or very metallic look?
