Guys, look at the pic with the fenders. In between them is an air filter assembly. Is this stock or aftermarket?

I disassembled my carbs today to get them ready for a cleaning and rebuild. When I was at my local bike salvage, I scored an original H4 headlight assembly for $20. The chrome ring has major road rash on a spot though. I dug for about an hour and never found a good ring. Looks like its gonna cost a bit over $100 to redo the carbs with new gaskets and seals.

Well, today was the first time I really cleared a spot out for the 1000 and went over it. My intake boots looked good until I removed them and found all of them cracked badly. I happen to have my GPz305 torn down and set the front fender on the KZ. I actually like the 305 fender on it. It looks like it will bolt on with the existing holes too. I mocked up my $20 headlight assembly. I really like the fluted headlight lens. I just need a new ring cause that one is trashed. I looked the gas tank over and I believe someone has wiped body filler over the emblem mounting. Am I right on this? There should be an indentation and threaded holes for the metal KAWASAKI badge to screw on, right? Here's the previous owners butcher job on the tail being cut off and an aweful seat pan. I texted him about the tail he cut off and he said he would look for it. Hopefully he finds it. If not, I'll fab one and weld it on. He also cut off the seat hinge tabs. I'm wanting to use a set of gauges from a GPZ550 also. I like the look of the big speedo and smaller tach. The best part is it's a Kawasaki part.

Another member told me how to wire it. 3 wires to connect. Sounds simple enough but we'll see.

I noticed my rear brake lever and actuator rod was missing from the big tote. I bought a set of new drag bars and the rear brake lever and actuator arm from my local bike salvage this morning. I like the drag bars. WooHoo, my list is getting shorter slowly but surely. :woohoo:

I've had heck trying to find a GPz305 front fender in the USA to put on my KZ. The one in the pic is for my 305 I'm restoring. I found one at Willys Cycle. He's got an ebay store. He had some other 305 parts I've bought from him before. I called and asked and he had one. Its on the way!
