KZ 750 P1 scrambler

24 Oct 2013 16:00
#611048
As predicted, I started a new "project"
The donor:

Got it in bad condition, stood 2 years in open,, jammed carbs, leaking gas tank, camchain 1 tooth of on inlet, etc.

Already done:
  • shorter saddle
  • MX- handlebar
  • MX- tyres
  • a "sort of" new tail

As it will be an off-road machine, there will be no close up pictures!
"Hammerite" and "Wuerth" are the key-words B)

First objective is to get it ready for winter:

More pictures will follow.

Thinking outside the box...this can be good. There is a member here who has (had?) a 1982 GPz750 scrambler.

Nice one's  Where is the right side view?
As I said, I'll not spend big $, so:
  • Same rims
  • cheap colour
BUT- it has to be safe and in good riding condition!

Had first setback- the bottom yoke was bent, so I couldn't get the front straight :(

We'll see

Hoi!

A sticker-scrambler B)
So the yoke is strait again and the half-baked product looks like this:

A general question:
With "sporty" exhaust and K&N (or similar) pods, what jobs must be done in carbs?
Both-in Keihin and Mikuni, any links in this forum....

Buy yourself a Dynojet kit, they are expensive but well worth the money, to get the bike running strong. They have done the R&R saving you alot of ball-ache & frustration ;)

Hoi!

Got the bike running :)
Have to make a small windscreen and-GO!
Some issues: the battery alarm is blinking-missing battery sensor?
Bit slow on the lower range of revs.......
And its getting some extra air from somewhere.
