Woo, engine parts! As done as mine is, I even put in a call to Z1 today haha. I wanted one of those halogen headlights and I needed tank emblem screws, I lost the ones I had. It never ends haha.

If I didn't want a ZRX so bad then I probably would already own a B12. Nice bike! If you don't mind, send me a pm with what you paid. I like to keep track of these things. I bet you have been riding the wheels off that thing. As long as your KZ has been down, I bet you were jonesing to get the wind in your face.

Next weekend, as in the 5th/6th? You're on Mark! Josh, I haven't gotten a chance to do anything except ride it to the gas station. It runs pretty lean though, and will benefit greatly from a jet kit. Maybe a slip on.... I wonder how wide the swingarm is......cartridge forks.....

I have a sickness. Someone stop me now!

Out of curiosity, has anyone reading this thread replaced the seperate voltage regulater and rectifier units with a one piece part? I ordered an all in one replacement and it arrived today :woohoo: but it did not come with a wiring diagram. I also hope I got the right unit. Its part #VRRPM3 from Oregon Motorcycle Parts. Its made for a permanant magnet system and 3 wire alternator. Is that what my KZ1000 has? Electrical is my achilles heel, and it gives me a confusing headache every time I have to do anything other than a straight forward wire splice

yeah I got 2 from Jeff 4/5 years ago and they plug in either the 2 sockets that the reg and rec used.
Just re-read your post and you might not have the same as me. I guess you can look at the reg/rec that jeff supplies on Z1 ent. and see if they're the same.

Boy did I! lol I had some trouble figuring it all out but finally did. I had a wire wrong and my bike wouldn't shut off when I turned the key off...it kept running! Thought it was my ignition switch.

I made some posts on it somewhere...I'll see if I can find them because I can't remember what goes where now!

EDIT: Ok, here's the link to the thread...should help you out.

My apologies your Highness, but us commoners can't put 1 Z1R in the garage, let alone one for every day of the week!
Yes, I was gone, and yes, I'm back. I'm happy to see you missed me Leon :P
79 MKII, that was exactly what I was looking for, Thanks! The guy from OMP got back to me and echoed the same thing. The unit I bought is the correct one for my application. Red to battery, black to ground, and the yellow wires to the stator. Simple.

I will make sure and post a pic of the custom sprocket as soon as it shows up Leon ;) In fact, when I get home I'll post a pic or the new RR unit for ya. Its at least something! As far as being around, yeah, the new job will guarantee I will be home every afternoon and weekend, so no excuses! I should call D&G and find out what the schedule is on my sprocket. One thing he mentioned to me that I hadn't even thought of is the additional length needed for the clutch actuator when using an outboard bearing support that far away from the cases, and potential interference of the sprocket with the clutch actuator. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
