I can see your point on the cable clutch. I've never had a problem launching a juice clutch. I'm gonna try a juice set up on my next project and see if I like it compared to the cable.
I can say this, I've never had a slave fail on any of my bikes, but I have had more than one cable break.
The only slave that gave up on me was in a Toyota Corolla I had in HS. Son of a buck, lurched out into a busy four lane from a stop sign. I was fortunate traffic was thin when it happened. I think I peed a little

Has it been five months? It feels like a lifetime! With a very busy life and a job change late last year I really droppedthe ball on all my projects  That said, I need to complete all these little details and start finishing this build up.
I'll have to post pics later, but for now know that I stripped the bike back.down to the bare frame to clean up any ugly welds, strip tue rest of the frame to bare steel and cleaned up the bottom rear of the frame where I capped the original subframe down tubes. (You'll approve Leon). Cheers for now!

Here we go......
I wasn't real happy with my first bottom tube caps. They were more of a "I'll get back to these later" solution. Later has come and gone, and now that I want to paint my frame, I needed to take care of it. I sliced off the first hideous caps:
Then I cut out some new ones and welded them in place:
I wasn't happy about the outcome of these ones either, so I cut them off and made more room for a proper radius:
This allowed me to use some 1.5" tubing that I had run through a tubing roller, cut a piece out and then semi-sectioned it to give me a tighter radius.
Much better! I welded them up:
And then smoothed them out:
Now I can check that item off the list and move forward with stripping the frame for paint. About damn time too!

porchev914 wrote: I know its been painful to watch (Leon), but I did get a little something made last night. One of the things I needed to do before paint was some little tabs for an undertail shield panel. The only thing is, I don't have the panel made yet. So, thats what I did last nightI started by using spray adhesive to glue card stock (file folders work awesome, are cheap and plentiful) to the bottom of the subframe, so that I have something flat that follows the contour of the tubes. Then I covered the folders with packaging tape.
Then I laid the the first layer of carbon cloth over the "mould"
I mixed up some resin, coated the first layer of cloth,, then added 3 more layers for a total of 4. It doesn't need to be super strong, just keep the crud out from under the seat and tail. After the last layer it looked like this:
And there you have it, thats how you make a quick and dirty carbon fiber subframe panel.
I love the "mould". It's extra funny cause it worked...

Of course it worked
I didn't have the luxury of making a proper mold for a one off part, and I knew card stock and packaging tape would work (mostly) for a one off. It's not as clean as any of my other parts, but it doesn't need to be. It's job is to keep road crud out of my pretty aluminum battery box and general under seat area. It'll only suck compared to the sidecovers, tail and tank

I finished stripping my frame this morning with a little hand held HF sand blaster and #20 cilica sand. Not the best for sandblasting but it gets the job done. The sand blaster had to be modified to work properly, though thats not entirely surprising with HF products. I'm gone for the next two weeks for work, then when I get back I'll paint the frame/subframe. I owe a couple people some parts (Les, Trianglaguna) so that stuff will go out when I get back as well. I'm sooooooo ready to start putting this bike back together!
Hollywoodmx, You're making stellar progress. Life, kids, family and other "priorities" got in my way. You're on track to finish in record time. Keep that momentum
