Put the pods on, changed the oil and filter, wd40d some parts that were a bit stiff. im still in the process of cleaning the inside of the tank, but will buy a fuel filter of course. will be getting a battery tomorrow, then have to take those spark plugs off so i can put a tiny bit of oil inside. once thats said and done im hoping to start the engine. and if im lucky it will turn on. obv with the pods it probably wont stay on but knowing that it could turn on will be ok. I really want to start bobbing it out.

the pods wont keep the bike from running it will be lean but wont die on you. Do you have the stock exhaust? If not that 4-1 will make it a bit mor lean but still won't make it quit.

yeah all i have is that 4-1 with no baffle. need to find me one.
but yeah i just want it to run for a little so i know the engine is good an not need an overhaul. after that ill rejet and clean that bike head to toe while bobbing it.
also i need to check the wiring, i used a 12vlt 6amp charger to see if the electrical worked. the neutral light turned on and the brake like and horn worked but the headlight and signals didnt turn on. i chekced them all and they are all new bulbs. i know under the headlight there is a pkug that isnt connected and i cant find where it connects too.

Tried starting the bike today, sounded good. at first gas wasnt going into the carbs, then i got it set. it tried starting but nothing, went to the point that i smelled gas, i sniffed the exhaust i smelled gas so i stopped. i have to check if there is spark going to the plugs and if the plugs are good.
Also none of my lights turn on nuetral turns on and when i press the brak it lights up bright but nothing else turns on and they are all new bulbs. so it will be fun checking all that wiring, which i want to replace this winter but i want to make sure the bike runs and works fine so i can start actually bobbing it out

A couple of suggestions:
Check and replace fuses. May consider converting to blade type fuses. (May solve lighting issues) Also check ground wires.
Buy some new spark plugs. I just brought a 650 C back to life and the plugs needed to be replaced. At least the $12 is worth peice of mind knowing that they are good and new.
Maybe unscrew spark plug caps and trim back the plug wires an 1/8 to a 1/4 of an inch to remove any corrosion. If you see shiney copper then your good.
Also search this site for the coil modification. It will get ~12 V to the coils. Check with a Multi Meter first to ensure you are not already getting 11.5 or higher V at the coils. If so then the mod is not necessary. If required, a 12 V auto relay some solder and an iron with male / female plug type connectors and wire will be needed. A cheap upgrade.
When I bought my bike it would not run and now it runs like a devil.
