Cool. I'm a big fan of anything the guy touches. Thought about renaming one of the cats after him so I could say that I get to hang with Solumnrus every day...but it's a cat...and I just couldn't do that to him.

Seriously, looking forward to the pics as I've got Christmas vacation coming up and I need a little (okay...a LOT) of motivation to get into the garage and spin wrenches.

Good luck on the project; you won't need it, you've got Russ. ;)

10.25:1 for street manners.

reason behind not going with larger valves is that the kit comes with fairly mild 435 cams. but, it also comes with some very tasty Ti pieces for more rpms. 8^)

i'm working on fininshing up a couple of other customer's projects that have been malingering around the shop for a while. then full blast into this monster build. 8^)

i can't wait to see how it runs.

Hey all, I am very interested in seeing how these projects come together. This winter I am going to spend some serious money on my motor as well. My criteria is that I want to get the most size and hp available and yet still have a daily rider that I could ride long distances as well. I don't care if the bike can beat a busa. I know it won't but a busa could never beat the coolness and classic status that the kz has. No matter where I ride everyone who knows the bike gives it mad props. Pisses my harley rider and wanna be harley riding friends off.
Anyone know if a 1428 turbo kit (low compression) would be the trick to get the most hp and have the most reliability of a big block. That has got to be able to put up at least 150hp. Also what size mik smoothies would work best on that application? All I want to do is terrorize the street not looking to race on the track or just have it as a short distance rider when its cold out. I need it to be a daily rider.
Thanks for considering my question.

LOL!

1400 on boost? hmm. if you JUST want 150hp, build a 1075 turbo motor. put good gas in and turn up the boost.

you want fun, reliable streetbike for a driver, go with the 1075 recipe. 29mm smoothies, 10.25:1 1075 pistons, mild port on the head, and cams.

slap an oil cooler on there, a good ignition, back cut 2nd gear, and wheelie off into the sunset.

Hi Sol,

Thats about what I am planning would you go with the wisco pistons or Ape, what cams would you use and what kind of horsepower would you expect?

I think your options are Wiseco or MTC, I believe APE sells Wiseco piston kits.

Can't go wrong with APE :)
